POE Water Softeners as a Part of a Whole House System
Water Softeners are used as a POE (point of entry) device as a Water Conditioner. It is a common part of a Whole House System. Water softeners are commonly used to remove lime scale in "hard" water. Lime scale will build up on bath and kitchen fixtures. Water softeners are also used for low level iron removal or sulfur removal from water. It is common to use a water softener in conjunction with other water filtration equipment such as Reverse Osmosis Systems, shower filters and POE water filters.
