Air Gap and Air Gap Faucets For RO Reverse Osmosis Systems
Air Gaps May Be Required By Local Code For RO Reverse Osmosis Drinking Water Systems. An air gap prevents any possibility of a back flow of drain water into the drinking water. Some air gaps are noisy and may be objectionable. Air Gap faucets are often considered to be a pesky noise in the kitchen when the reverse osmosis system is operating and making pure water. Some circumstances allow the use of a check valve backflow preventer in place of an air gap.
